An unholy alliance of Christian and Jewish fundamentalist terrorists may bloody the streets of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) far more than anything the Islamic strugglers in Palestine could ever do in their quest to liberate Palestine. Yet for the Zionist-controlled media in the west, such developments are of marginal interest, if at all.

The world got some inkling of what may be in store when 14 members of a US-based cult, Concerned Christians of Denver, Colorado, were arrested in Israel on January 4 and deported to the US. The cult members had arrived in Occupied Palestine last September and planned to carry out a campaign of bombings as well as destruction of the Masjid al-Aqsa in what they believe would hasten the ‘second coming of Jesus,’ upon whom be peace. The cult members further believe that the world would come to an end in 1999 but not before there is a bloody conflict in Jerusalem in which thousands perish.

While the Zionist terrorists do not share the interpretation of the return the Prophet Jesus, upon whom be peace, with the Christian cultists, they find common cause in wanting to destroy the Aqsa Mosque. This ambition the Zionists have harboured for a long time.

When the Zionist forces occupied Al-Quds, taking it from Jordanian forces in June 1967, Israeli army rabbi, Shlomo Goren, had urged general Uzi Sarkiss to blow up the Aqsa Mosque as well as the Dome of the Rock. An interview given by Sarkiss to the Hebrew newspaper, Ha’aretz, in May 1997 was published by the paper after the general’s death on December 17, 1997. Sarkiss had requested that the information be published only after all participants involved in this discussion are dead. Excerpts from the interview were also carried by the Associated Press in a dispatch from Jerusalem on December 31, 1997.

Goren, who became Israel’s chief rabbi, died in July 1994. He was a well-known racist. Soon after the Zionist terrorist, Baruch Goldstein had slaughtered 48 Palestinian worshippers at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Al-Khalil (Hebron) on February 25, 1994, he had remarked that a million Palestinian lives were not worth the finger-nail of a Jew! That such a racist could be elevated to the position of chief rabbi of Israel speaks volumes for the nature of that State.

According to the Ha’aretz story, Goren made his remarks to Sarkiss a few hours after the Haram al-Sharif, or ‘the Noble Sanctuary,’ fell into Israel’s hands on June 7, 1967.

‘The paratroopers wandered around the plaza as if in a dream,’ Narkiss was quoted as saying. ‘Rabbi Shlomo Goren was among them. I was alone for a moment, lost in thought, when Rabbi Goren approached me. “Uzi,” Rabbi Goren said to me. “Now is the time to put 100 kilograms of explosives into the Mosque of Omar [the Dome of the Rock] so that we may rid ourselves of it once and for all.”

‘I said to him, “Rabbi, enough.”

‘He said, “Uzi, you will go down in history if you do this.” ‘I answered, “My name will already be written in the history books of Jerusalem.”

‘But Goren persisted. “You don’t grasp what tremendous significance this would have. This is an opportunity that can be taken advantage of now, at this moment. Tomorrow it will be too late.”

‘I said “Rabbi, if you don’t stop, I’ll take you to jail.”

‘Thus, the discussion, which only lasted a few minutes, came to an end. Rabbi Goren turned and walked away in silence.’

Rabbi Menahem Hacohen, a former aide to Goren, denied in an Israeli army radio interview on December 31, 1997 that the latter had suggested using explosives. But the radio played a tape of a speech Goren made in 1967 to a military convention, in which he called it a ‘tragedy’ that Israel had left the Haram al-Sahrif in control of the Muslims.

On the tape, Goren says: ‘I told this to the defence minister (Moshe Dayan) and he said, “I understand what you are saying, but do you really think we should have blown up the mosque?” and I said, “Certainly we should have blown it up.”

“It is a tragedy for generations that we did not do so. ... I myself would have gone up there and wiped it off the ground completely so that there was no trace that there was ever a Mosque of Omar there.”

There has been no dirt of Zionist Jews attempting to blow up the Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. The first attempt was made in July 1969 when an Australian-born Jew tried to burn it down. Other attempts at destruction were made in 1982. Similarly, in October 1987, the Israeli army tried to encroach the Haram by holding a military ceremony there. When the Muslims resisted, the army shot dead more than 20 Palestinians.

In September 1996, Benjamin Netanyahu authorised the opening of a tunnel under the Haram Sharif. In the ensuing protests, the Zionist’s shot dead more than 75 Palestinians. As recently as December 1997, two Israelis were detained for plotting to throw a pig’s head into the

compound. While the Zionists do not consider pigs to be unclean anymore, Muslims consider them to be the ultimate in filthiness.

The Zionists’ old desire coupled with the distorted reading of the Bible by Christian cultists make for a deadly combination. Their horrible plans may lead to a bloody conflict which will consume more than the Jewish and Christian terrorists.
