The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN atomic watchdog, passed a resolution on June 12, declaring that Iran is not complying with its obligations regarding nuclear non-proliferation.

The resolution, drafted by Britain, France and Germany and backed by the US, was passed with 19 votes in favor, three against, and 11 abstentions.

To their credit, Russia, China, and Burkina Faso voted against it.

Among the countries that abstained were South Africa, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Indonesia, and Brazil.

Following this latest resolution passed by the IAEA, zionist Israel launched major attacks on the Muslims in Iran on June 13.

Iran’s nuclear sites were hit and top military commanders and nuclear scientists assassinated.

The zionist Israeli Yahudi war criminal, Netanyahu then boasted by saying “what we are doing with Iran is on a much greater scale from what we are doing with Hamas and what we did with Hizbullah. If we work properly, we can achieve major change, and make it a turning point in the region.”

He went on to say “I wanted this attack in 2011, but wasn’t able to convince the majority.”

South Africa is widely presented as being part of the resistance.

Notwithstanding this image, it abstained when the expectation from an anti-imperialist and anti-zionist country would be to vote against such a resolution.

Since the visit of South African President to Washington on May 21, the South African rand has strengthened against the US dollar.

This abstention by South Africa coupled with the strengthening of its currency probably explains un-publicized facets of the deal that was struck behind the scenes in Washington on May 21.

Previously South Africa voted in favor of United Nations Security Council Resolutions- UNSCR 1929 and UNSCR 1747- which imposed economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran, one of its staunchest supporters.

Pretoria has a track record of treachery, especially against the Islamic Republic.

Yet it makes tall claims about being non-aligned.

Now, there are reports suggesting that 3,000 Israelis have returned to South Africa following the beating that Israel has taken at the hands of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The South African Jewish Board of Deputies has indicated that they have arranged the repatriation for over 200 South Africans who contacted us, desperate to get home.

It raises two important questions: 1. Has the exclusivist god of Israel broken his promise to the self-styled chosen people and, 2. What will the supposedly pro-Palestinian African National Congress (ANC) which leads the Government of National Unity do about this development?

Previously, South Africa failed to act on the Gaza Docket which has technically been enroute to the ICC since 2008.

Pretoria has taken no action pertaining to at least 70 suspected South African war criminals enlisted in the Israeli Genocidal Forces (IGF) despite the 17-year-old application by the Media Review Network, etc. calling the National Prosecuting Authority to investigate SA zionists in the IGF during Israel’s Operation Cast Lead.

Charges filed under section five of the Rome Statute of the ICC allows prosecution of suspected war criminals of any nationality in the country signatory to it.

The docket contains boasts by zionist SA citizens contravening the Regulation of the Foreign Military Assistance Act.

At that time, SA citizen Colonel David Benjamin of the IGF’s Military Assistance Core was in SA and three urgent applications to arrest him were not acted upon.

Yet some novice analysts, including one of international acclaim who had recently visited South Africa, had resorted to the strategy of beating a dead horse.

He heaped praise on the ANC and called on the Muslims to support the ANC and “not cut their noses to spite their faces” by punishing the ANC at the polls.

Returning to the latest/additional betrayal of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is a fellow BRICS+ member, was the voting pattern of the other BRICS+ members: South Africa, India, Egypt, Indonesia, and Brazil- all of whom abstained from voting on the UN-backed atomic watchdog resolution declaring that Iran is not complying with its obligations regarding nuclear non-proliferation?

While Russia voted against the IAEA resolution declaring that Iran is not complying with its obligations regarding nuclear non-proliferation, Russia had supplied the S-400 systems to Iran’s adversary Turkey, and offered them to Saudi Arabia, but had refused to supply them to Iran due to Moscow’s perceived need to sustain positive ties with Israel.

Crescent International had previously raised red flags pertaining to BRICS after its 15^th Summit and shortly after its expanded membership.

It had similarly done so after South Africa apparently took Israel to the International Criminal Court and prepared papers for the International Court of Justice.

As the Islamic Movement has to rebuild following the martyrdom of senior leaders such as General Qasem Soleimani, Imam Ibrahim Raisi, Hassan Nasrallah, Isma’il Haniyeh, Yahya Sinwar and many others, the critical question that must be addressed at this juncture is whether the Iranian nationalists in particular along with the sectarian firsters (both Sunni and Shi‘i) are capable of learning the lesson from these betrayals and then dropping their nationalist and sectarian egos to come together and deal with the counter/anti-Islamic civilization that continues to mete out unprecedented suffering?
