To the biblical myth are added other equally untenable myths

In this issue, we take a closer look at Zionist mythology and the true nature of the Zionist State. Several myths have been peddled to camouflage the real character of the colonial settler entity. Wrapped in the messianic notion of God’s promise to the “Chosen People”, it aims to set itself apart — nay above — other human beings, and to project the notion that its existence is not contingent on moral approval or recognition.

To the biblical myth are added other equally untenable myths: that Jews cannot assimilate into other societies even though the overwhelming majority of Jewish people do not live in the Zionist State; that if there were a separate state for the Jews, there would be no holocaust, and so on. Conveniently ignored in all this propaganda is the fact that Israel is the least safe place in the world for the Jewish people, not because of any inherent anti-Jewish bias but because of Israel’s brutality toward the Palestinian people.

Of late, Western politicians have added another myth. Any criticism of Israel is immediately branded as anti-Semitism. This argument is advanced by Western politicians to curry favour with the pushy, brash, and unscrupulous Zionist lobby in their countries. While it provides little protection to the Jewish people, it demeans the very notion of anti-Semitism. Indeed, Israelis are the most racist and bigoted people on earth.

Israeli racism needs to be exposed, confronted and defeated.
