This issue of Crescent International is late going to press because of global events over which we have no control. One problem is that people do not check with us before planning their important events such as weddings. Take the case of Prince William and Kate Middleton. They did not ask us whether it was convenient for them to get married on April 29. It naturally created travel/shipment problems for us.
While we held back publication of the Crescent to avoid getting caught in the wedding crush in England, the Americans decided to go after Osama bin Laden in his compound in Abbotabad. Why did Obama have to send his forces at this time? Why not a few days earlier or later? After all, our readers would expect us to report on such an important story. Obama has a lot of explaining to do!
We were also caught in the election drama in Canada that produced some interesting, even if bizarre results. We have refrained from commenting on Canadian elections because of lack of space. We hope to present our analysis in the next issue. In any case, Canada is not a major player on the international scene even if it tries to punch above its weight and gets mauled in the process, as in Afghanistan.
In any case, we apologise to our readers for the delay in this issue. We hope to maintain our publication schedule in future.
