Barack Obama has proved to be a hypocrite. He had promised in January 2009 to close Guantanamo Bay but hundreds still languish there, writes Mohammed Khan Yousufzai from Pakistan.

It is shocking that the torture camp at Guantanamo Bay is still running 12 years after it was opened. US President Barack Obama’s pledge in January 2009 to close it has been a cruel hoax. Obama is a liar. The US military has cleared at least 86 prisoners in Gitmo for release because they are completely innocent, yet they continue to languish there. Others prisoners are also innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Most have gone on hunger strike to draw attention to their plight.
