Ceasefire agreed between Zionist aggressors and Islamic Jihad in Gaza

Thursday November 14, 2019 - updated 11:04 am

After two days of heavy Israeli bombardment of Gaza, a ceasefire was agreed through the efforts of Egypt and the UN.

Islamic Jihad spokesman Mus’ab Al-Breem said that his movement had set conditions to accept the ceasefire. These included Israeli halt to targeted assassinations of Islamic Jihad or other resistance fighters and no use of live ammunition against Palestinians protesting at the fenced Gaza border.

Al-Breem said: “The occupation surrendered to the conditions of the resistance.”

The Israeli newspaper, Ha'aretz quoting a government source confirmed what the Islamic Jihad representative said.

Early today, Israeli planes continued their bombardment killing eight members of a single family. That brought the total to 34 dead and more than 120 injured in Gaza.

In pre-1948 Palestine, not a single Israeli was killed. Eighteen of them complained of suffering trauma because they had to rush into an air raid shelter. Some even complained that Palestinian rockets were preventing them from taking their dog for a walk. How touching!

The world's values are so distorted that the UN, created supposedly to prevent wars and end violence against defenceless people, actually sides with aggressors. Ditto for regimes and media in the West.

On the second day of Israel's aggression against the besieged Gaza Strip, at least 26 people have been killed in the tiny enclave that is home to some two million Palestinians.

Israeli warplanes, missile, artillery and tanks have continued to attack civilian targets in Gaza for the second day on November 13.

The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process (sic), Nickolay Mladenov, however, was more concerned about Palestinian retaliatory strikes against Israel.

Not a single Israeli civilian or military person has been killed yet Mladenov directed his rhetorical artillery fire at the Palestinians.

Speaking at a UN press conference today, he said: “the indiscriminate launching of rockets and mortars against population centres is absolutely unacceptable and must stop immediately.”

Are Israeli strikes against Gaza okay that have killed 26 and injured 69 others over the past two days, in addition to demolition and damaging of residential buildings in the besieged enclave?

Mladenov continued: “There can be no justification for any attacks against civilians.”

By “civilians’ he meant Israeli, not Palestinian civilians.

In the West in general and in Zionist Israel in particular, Palestinians are not considered human. They are dispensable.

Israel launched the latest round of bloodletting in the early hours of November 12 when it targeted the home of Islamic Jihad Commander Bahaa Abu Al-Ata killing him and his wife, as they were asleep.

Four of his children including two young daughters were injured as were a number of neighbours.

Facing criminal charges, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is anxious to divert people’s attention elsewhere.

Killing defenceless Palestinians is a sure way to garner support from the racist Zionists.

Israeli Occupation Forces continued attacks on the Gaza Strip from the air, sea as well as used artillery, tanks and missiles to target civilian infrastructure and kill civilians.

Among the 26 dead, there are six Palestinian civilians; three brothers, including two children, and a father and his two sons, including a child.

In the two-day Zionist onslaught that is ongoing, at least 69 civilians have been injured. These include four children and two women.

Similarly, a large number of buildings have either been destroyed or damaged.

These include houses, a farm, a carpentry workshop, motorbikes, greenhouses, agricultural lands and public gatherings in addition to Palestinian military sites.

To understand the criminal nature of Israeli warfare, consider the following:

Israel’s US-supplied warplanes followed Rafat Soliman Mohammed Ayyad (54) riding on his motorbike with his two sons, Islam (24) and Amir (7).

The motorbike riders were all civilians yet when they reached their home located behind Ali Mosque in al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, the plane fired a missile at them.

All three were blown to pieces and killed.

This constitutes a war crime for which Netanyahu should be put on trial as must his military commanders that order such murderous attacks.
