The kingdom of Jordan is an artificial entity created by the British colonialists. It continues to serve the purpose as an agent of imperialism and Zionism.

In your story, “Egypt: grappling with old and new problems,” (CI, June 2013), you highlight the Jordanian army’s abandoning Jerusalem and surrendering Masjid al-Aqsa to the Zionists without putting up a fight in the June 1967 War. This is what the monarchy was created for. In the October 1973 War, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat had confided in King Husain about attacking Israel to recover the Sinai Peninsula. Husain promptly notified the Zionists. It was the latter’s arrogance that prevented them from taking any preventative measures. The Jordanian monarchy is full of traitors.
