Israeli newspaper Haaretz, reported: “According to Palestinian Red Cross, Ali Abu Aliya, who media reported is 13 years old, was hit by live fire in the stomach and was taken in critical condition to a hospital in Ramallah for surgery. The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed his death hours later.”

To shoot a child requires a high degree of cruelty.

It happened to be Ali’s birthday and his parents had prepared a cake for him, the first time in his life.

He was very excited about it and was to have cut it in the evening. It was not to be.

Ali Abu Aliya was not involved in any stone throwing; he was merely standing there when shot.

Zionist apologists would “brush” aside the murder of another Palestinian child by heavily-armed Israeli soldiers as a “mistake”.

The fact is Israeli occupation forces routinely kill Palestinian children.

If Americans Knew, an American organization that tracks Zionist crimes in Palestine, records that 2,172 Palestinian children have been killed by the Israelis since the year 2000.

Ali Abu Aliya’s murder is not an isolated incident, it’s Israeli policy.

Israel’s former Justice Minister, Ayelet Shaked had earlier posted on Facebook that “the entire Palestinian people is the enemy… including its elderly and its women, its cities and its villages, its property and its infrastructure.”

In 2017 Human Rights Watch highlighted that “some senior Israeli officials have been encouraging Israeli soldiers and police to kill Palestinians they suspect of attacking Israelis even when they are no longer a threat.”

According to Defence for Children International-Palestine, “each year approximately 500-700 Palestinian children, some as young as 12 years old, are detained and prosecuted in the Israeli military court system.”

While Zionist apologists dismiss Israel’s brutality towards children by claiming that they throw stones at them, children resitting occupation have been widely praised in Western literature and history.

The Canadian broadcaster, CBC produced a highly acclaimed award-winning Radio documentary titled Little Fighters: Children in the Resistance airing the remarkable testimony of courageous children who fought against the Nazis in occupied Europe.

Palestinian children are resorting to demonstrations and political participation because it is their moral, political and human right to stand-up to Israel’s illegal occupation and the world should stand with them.
