Why are incidents of rape so prevalent in India including attacks on elderly nuns? When so many accused rapists sit in parliament, it is not surprising.

I find it extremely distressing to read about increasing incidents of rape in India. Last month, news of an elderly nun raped by a gang of seven or eight men leaked out. There is little doubt India is gripped by sickness with its culture of promiscuity, horrible caste discrimination and extreme oppression of women. Is it surprising that ordinary Indians indulge in such conduct when there are hundreds of parliamentarians facing charges of rape and other crimes? Why aren’t such people in jail? They do not belong in a people’s assembly unless of course that assembly is meant for rapists and murderers.
