Poverty is deliberately engineered because of unfair trade and financial practices, according to Shamim Kausar.

While disparities of wealth have always existed, the manner in which inequality is spreading calls for drastic action. There are two separate issues: disparities between people in a state and disparities between states. The latter is much more serious because powerful states have coercive tools at their disposal to secure advantage but if people rise up and besiege the exploiters’ embassies, they can at least bring the issue to the fore.
