Sexualizing Flag Poles And Indoctrinating Young Children

The aggressive manner in which the LGBTQ agenda is being promoted in schools and the broader society in Canada and the US, it may not be long before it becomes compulsory to be gay, lesbian or transgender. Leading to last month’s pride flag month, school boards across Canada became battlegrounds where LGBTQ fanatics tried to intimidate parents who did not want their children to be subjected to gender-identity indoctrination at such a young age.

Parents that objected to such indoctrination were physically removed from school board meetings. Students who said there are only two sexes—male and female—during class discussion about same-sex washrooms have been thrown out of school. One student—Josh Alexander—at a Catholic school, was arrested when he tried to return to class. The principal told him he must accept that there are more than two sexes before being allowed to attend classes.

In the face of such discrimination and intimidation of parents and students that wish to follow the biological definition of sexes, proponents of gender identity ideology accuse them of being opposed to LGBTQ human rights. It is not a question of human rights; gender identity is a choice. Those who do not agree with it should be free to choose their own life-style, not intimidated or threatened.

June has been designated as pride flag month. What this means is that schools and corporate buildings fly the “pride” flag, meaning a flag representing LGBTQ identity, along with the flag of the country or province. During hearings at numerous boards of education last month, parents were aghast at sexualizing flag poles.

The organization, Parents as First Educators (PAFE), uploaded a video on its Facebook page of a meeting held on May 15 at the Durham District School Board (DDSB) in Ontario. It showed attendee Janet Miller questioning why the protocol that Canada’s flag must fly alone on its own flagpole is ignored every time the “Pride” flag is raised right underneath the Canadian flag at DDSB schools.

The PAFE video was viewed by at least 1,000 viewers per hour and within a few days had 80,000 viewers. It clearly reflected the deep concerns of parents. Another parent asked if the pride flag is hoisted, why not one that represents heterosexuals as well?

Then came the Toronto pride parade on the weekend of June 24-25. Toronto was virtually shut down as three million people converged on the downtown. People from all over Canada and the US attended the pride parade. Politicians vie to be there because where they see large numbers of people, they see votes.

The gender ideologues’ aggressive policy has resulted in a 16-year-old student being arrested at a Catholic high school in Ontario. Josh Alexander’s problems started last November during class discussion at St Joseph High School in Renfrew, a Catholic school.

The discussion was about “male students using female washrooms, gender dysphoria and male breastfeeding. Everyone was sharing their opinions on it, any student who wanted to was participating, including the teacher,” Alexander told the National Post following his suspension from class.

“I said there were only two genders, and you were born either a male or a female, and that got me into trouble. And then I said that gender doesn’t trump biology.”

This offended some trans students in his class, who hold that biology is irrelevant to your “gender” and can be changed according to your subjective view of what your gender is.

When Alexander tried to return to school on January 6, 2023, he was told to recant his statements about gender identity before he would be allowed to attend classes. When he refused, the police were called to remove him from school premises.

Here was a clear case of discrimination against a student who is denied the fundamental right to education. His case has gained Canada-wide attention. At the beginning of January 2023, he had nearly 1,000 followers on Twitter. Now he has 49,000. There is overwhelming support for his position throughout Canada which the LGBTQ crusaders want to smother.

Alexander has now lodged a case in court to challenge his suspension. The Catholic School Board has challenged his right to “standing” meaning that as a minor—Alexander is now 17 years old—does not have the right to lodge a court challenge on his own. His parents support Alexander and have submitted an affidavit in court confirming this.

The gender madness has made some girls in schools so uncomfortable that they do not use school washrooms any more. Biological males who identify themselves as “females” are allowed to use girls’ washrooms. One can imagine where this will lead to. There is already total sexual anarchy in society; another layer of madness is being added.

The parents of a six-year-old child in Peel Region were appalled to learn that he was subjected to gender identity indoctrination in class. When they complained to the class teacher and asked why their prior written permission had not been obtained, the teacher told them to speak to the school principal.

The Ontario ministry of education guidelines are quite clear. Sex education should be imparted when students are in grade 5, that is they are about 9-10 years old. Again, parental consent is required. These classes are labeled ‘Health education’ or ‘Physical education’.

Unfortunately, the gender fanatics manipulate even this regulation. Children are indoctrinated through other means such as library reading and literature. Books are chosen that push the LGBTQ agenda. Parents are deliberately kept in the dark about these tactics.

Parents are asking who gave teachers or schools the right to indoctrinate children age 5 or 6 about gender identity when they are not even aware of sex? And why are parents excluded from what is being taught to their children at school? After all, parents are responsible, legally and financially, for their children until they are 18 years old. Parents find it frustrating that someone else indoctrinates their child(children) but they are responsible for the consequences of their children’s misconduct, if any.

One parent, Cristina Romano challenged the Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board on May 23 when she asked the board trustees: “Will you be okay knowing that you participated in destroying a child’s body and mind in the name of inclusivity?”

In life, people make all kinds of choices that carry consequences. Young children, however, are not in a position to make such choices. Their minds and bodies are not developed to know about sex or sexual orientations. They are being indoctrinated to advance someone else’s agenda.

People choose to smoke or drink alcohol even though these are not good for health. And they know it. Can non-smokers and non-drinkers be accused of violating the rights of smokers and drinkers if they do not agree with their choices? So, what is so privileged about gender identity choices?

When children are born, their birth certificate says either “boy” or “girl”. We are not aware of any other category of sex identified on the birth certificate. Surely the newly-born infant cannot determine his/her sexual orientation even if the gender identity crusaders would have us believe otherwise.

It is time for this madness to end and for all people, including the gender crusaders, to return to sanity.
