Describing Israel’s blockade of Gaza and what the Palestinians are enduring “… may be the cruellest phase of this cruel conflict,” the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that Israel’s escalating military campaign and prolonged blockade have pushed the population to the brink of famine.
In her May 24 piece in the British daily, The Guardian, Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett wrote:
“I have seen images on my phone screen these past months that will haunt me as long as I live. Dead, injured, starving children and babies. Children crying in pain and in fear for their mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers. A small boy shaking in terror from the trauma of an airstrike. Scenes of unspeakable horror and violence that have left me feeling sick.
“Sometimes I skip over these photos and videos, afraid perhaps of what I will see next. But more often than not, I feel compelled to bear witness.”
These and similar comments have started to appear in mainstream media outlets as the zionist campaign of genocide and mass starvation have gone into high gear. The zionists relaunched their ground invasion of Gaza on May 12 where the two million Palestinians have faced relentless bombardment by Israel’s US-supplied warplanes. All aid to Gaza was already blocked since March 18.
The United Nations humanitarian aid chief Tom Fletcher warned on May 20 that up to “14,000 babies” in Gaza could die “within the next 48 hours” if humanitarian aid doesn’t reach them promptly. He was speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. Thousands of trucks loaded with baby food and nutritional supplies are ready to enter Gaza but remain stalled at the border.
Israeli officials have repeatedly alleged that Hamas will take this food away. “This is not food that Hamas is going to steal,” Fletcher insisted. “We run the risk of looting. We run the risks of being hit as part of the Israeli military offensive. We run all sorts of risk trying to get that baby food through to those mothers who cannot feed their children right now because they’re malnourished.”
On May 19 evening, Israel allowed five aid trucks carrying baby food and other essential supplies to enter Gaza through the Karem Abu Salem (Kerem Shalom) crossing, situated at the southern tip of the Gaza Strip. This was the first such delivery in nearly three months but it promptly bombed the food depot where it was delivered.
Israel indulges in such gimmicks (of allowing limited food deliveries)| to deflect the rising tide of criticism from around the world for its barbaric practices. UN humanitarian chief Fletcher described the delivery as a “drop in the ocean”. He added that the aid had not yet reached the communities in need.
This is deliberate. The zionist plan is clear. They want to make life so miserable for the Palestinians that they themselves would want to leave the enclave.
The three-pronged assault—dropping bombs from the air, starving people by blocking food and medicines deliveries, and now a ground invasion of the already destroyed enclave—is meant to force the Palestinians to flee Gaza.
The indicted war criminal, Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the Palestinians in North Gaza to vacate it and head south to Rafah. He said this was for the Palestinians’ own safety! His concern for their safety would be touching were it not for the fact that Palestinians are bombed along the way as well as in areas designated by Israel as “safe zone”.
These can more accurately be described as killing fields: corral the Palestinians into one small area and then bomb them. This is what Israel did over a three-day period from May 13-16 killing more than 500. In one week period from May 13, at least 1,000 Palestinians were murdered. The official death toll since October 7, 2023 has surpassed 53,900 although the real figure is close to 200,000 or more.
Zionist officials have made no secret of their desire to ethnically cleanse Gaza. As Israeli finance minister Bezalel Smotrich stated unashamedly: “Just as we levelled Rafah, we will level all of Gaza.” He was merely echoing what Netanyahu has publicly stated on many occasions, the latest being May 12, that Israeli troops plan to re-occupy the whole of Gaza and push the Palestinians out of there.
The only way to describe this is Israel’s final solution for Palestinians in Gaza. For the zionists, mass starvation is a perfectly legitimate tool to use against innocent civilians.
The UN has warned that more than 500,000 Palestinians are on the verge of starvation. Leaders of Britain, France and Canada have threatened sanctions against Israel if it does not stop its ground invasion and immediately allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. No practical steps, however, have been taken so far.
Israelis of all stripes—from left to right—are unanimous: They want to kill all Palestinians including babies.
A new poll shared by Israel’s Channel 13 News confirmed this. Most Israelis believe their government does not have to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza. So, let’s be clear: it’s not just the rulers or the extreme fringe elements. The whole country is full of sociopaths, as Caitlin Johnstone described it so well in her May 21 substack post, titled “Israel Is A Uniquely Evil Society”.
How evil is this society? Moshe Feiglin, a former Knesset member, went on Israeli television on May 20 and proclaimed that “every child, every baby in Gaza is an enemy” of Israel, and that “not a single Gazan child will be left there.”
Feiglin made clear: “The enemy is not Hamas, nor is it the military wing of Hamas, as our military commander tells us, that we are forbidden to harm a Hamasnik unless he is part of the military wing.”
The genocidal maniac said: “Every child in Gaza is the enemy,” He went on: “We need to occupy Gaza and settle it, and not a single Gazan child will be left there. There is no other victory.”
It does not get any more explicit than that.
