The appropriate place where Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu belong

One day after Donald Trump claimed that a deal with Iran was “very close”, he contradicted himself by posting on social media that Iran took “too long” to negotiate an agreement.

He threatened that Tehran will now “have to pay the price”.

Trump’s deal claim was the 37th since the US-Israeli illegal and unprovoked war on Iran was launched on February 28.

The convicted felon and rapist of underage girls, threatened to order new strikes on Iran’s power plants and bridges.

These constitute war crimes but neither Trump nor the indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu are constrained by legalities.

Iranian officials, civilian and military, made clear that Tehran will “not back down” amid Trump’s threats.

Iranian armed forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi was quoted by Fars News Agency as saying that Iran has proven it can respond decisively to US threats.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also announced that the US chose to “test our determination” and Iran’s military will “leave no attack or threat unanswered”.

He warned the US: “Leave our region if you want to be safe.”

Similar warnings were issued by President Masoud Pezeshkian and senior commanders of the Revolutionary Guard.

In continuing their war crimes, the US struck two drinking water tanks in the south of Iran cutting access to drinking water for about 20,000 civilians.

This is what the US and its illegitimate off-spring are good at: targting soft targets.

Iran’s armed forces responded by striking three military bases in the region using Kheibar Shikan missiles and drones.

The US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, Ali al-Salem military base in Kuwait, and Al-Azraq base in Jordan were hit.

The latter includes a hangar housing US F-35 fighter jets.

The US command and control centre at the base was also hit and sustained major damage.

Preliminary data, satellite imagery assessments, and information from Iranian security services point to the success of Iran's large-scale military operation.

Iran’s Air and Missile Forces successfully struck 70% of the designated military targets with great precision.

Iran’s long-range ballistic missiles and drones were able to penetrate air defense systems deployed at US military bases.

The US aggression came a day after a US Apache helicopter was shot down near the Strait of Hormuz.

Initially, Trump tried to downplay the significance of the helicopter downing but then launched criminal attacks against civilian targets in Iran.

Where do these strikes leave the indirect talks that are being mediated by Pakistan, Qatar and Turkiye?

Iran is not counting on the talks to succeed.

Trump is a liar and a fraud. Even if he signs a deal, he will not abide by its terms.

That is why Iran is insisting that the US must deliver on what it agrees to before Tehran will fulfill its commitments.

Iran has always done so in the past.

Tehran will also not allow US-zionist attacks to go unaswered whether on Iran or Lebanon.

It wants to maintain escalation dominance and has the capability to do so.

Trump has a choice: he must either behave like a normal human being—an unrealistic expectation—or face the consequences of his irrational and idiotic policies.

As the mid-term elections approach, he is getting desperate.

Gas, food and other commodity prices have skyrocketed creating much anger among American voters, including his MAGA base.

There is great likelihood that the Republicans will lose both houses of Congress leading to Trump’s impeachment.

That prospect terrifies him.

So, he has a choice.

Accept Iran’s reasonable proposals for a deal or face the prospect spending the last years of his life in an American prison cell.
