Zionist occupiers continue brutal attacks against Palestinians at al-Aqsa Mosque and the West Bank

Displaying customary brutality, Zionist occupation forces stormed Masjid al Aqsa in Al-Quds-Jerusalem and attacked worshippers inside the mosque on Friday April 15.

More than 150 worshippers were injured while praying.

Being the month of Ramadan, a very large number of people attend prayers, especially in Masjid al Aqsa, the first Qibla and third holiest site in Islam.

Heavily-armed Israeli police stormed the masjid with their filthy boots and attacked the worshippers.

Already fed-up with Zionist occupation that has now stretched for decades, Palestinians across the West Bank came out to protest the latest Israeli outrage.

The Israeli army, true to its violent nature, indulged in customary brutality against Palestinians on April 15 in several cities across Israeli-occupied West Bank.

With more than 230 Palestinians injured because of the occupation army’s use of live ammunition, the Red Crescent Society was prevented from treating the wounded.

Worse, the Israeli army targeted Red Crescent Society crews as well firing live bullets at an ambulance in Beita near Nablus damaging it.

The West Bank town of Jenin is a special target of the Zionists because of its residents’ resistance.

This month also marks the twentieth anniversary of the Jenin massacre.

Why do the Zionist occupiers continue to attack Masjid al Aqsa, especially in the month of Ramadan when a very large number of worshippers attend the sacred mosque and sanctuary for prayers?

While the Zionists have long eyed taking full control of the holy sanctuary, the Palestinians’ steadfast resistance has prevented them from achieving their nefarious agenda.

Last year’s Ramadan, too, following repeated Zionist provocations and incursions onto the holy sanctuary, led to Islamic resistance forces in Gaza—Hamas and Islamic Jihad—launching retaliatory strikes against the occupiers.

The Zionist war on Gaza lasted 11 days (May 10-21, 2021) but the Israeli army was terrified of physically entering the besieged strip fearing it will suffer massive casualties.

Instead, it resorted to indiscriminate firing at apartment buildings killing more than 280 civilians among them 66 children and 43 women.

The latest incursions into Masjid al Aqsa by the Zionist occupiers are intended, according to Sheikh Ekrima Sabri, the imam of Al-Aqsa, to pave the way for Israeli settlers to storm the mosque during the Jewish Passover holiday, which started last evening (April 15).

“What happened today [April 15] was a premeditated and orchestrated attack after the mobilisation of occupation forces to suppress the defenceless worshippers,” Sheikh Sabri was quoted by Middle East Eye.

The illegal squatters from Europe and North America (aka as Israeli settlers) want to carry out ritual slaughter inside al-Aqsa Mosque as part of their campaign to take over the compound.

Through creeping annexation, the Zionists want to take over the holy sanctuary.

The only thing standing in their way are the Palestinian people—men, women and children.

The Zionists are extremely racist.

They have no problem shouting racist slurs like “Death to Arabs” and “may your village burn”, as they did in June last year as the illegal squatters marched through the streets of Al-Quds-Jerusalem.

Despite such blatant racism and the threat to Masjid al Aqsa, several Arabian regimes have shamelessly embraced the Zionist war criminals.

There is not likely to be even a whisper of protest from western regimes in the ongoing Zionist criminal attacks against defenceless Palestinians.

Western regimes are quick to pounce on governments that they do not like or are not sufficiently subservient to their demands.

Yet Zionist crimes are being noted by respected human rights organizations.

For instance, on March 24, 2022, the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Michael Lynk had issued a devastating report about Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.

Professor Lynk’s report concluded that “Israel is practicing apartheid” against the Palestinian people in Occupied Palestine.

The UN report follows on the publication of similar findings of Israeli “apartheid” by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Al-Haq, Al-Mezan Centre for Human Rights, and Israeli human rights organizations B’Tselem, Yesh Din, and many other international and regional human rights organizations.

Nothing can be expected from the shameless Arabian regimes nor the collaborators of the Palestinian Authority, the rest of the Muslim Ummah can and must come to the defence of the defenceless Palestinians.

They can raise their voice against Zionist crimes and in defence of the Palestinians.

Muslims worldwide should join the annual Quds Day rallies and express their abhorrence of Zionist crimes and the silence of the so-called international community.

Such silence makes them complicit in Israeli crimes.
