Zionist occupiers shut down al Aqsa Mosque and kill Palestinians

Even while encroaching on the Haram al-Sharif (the holy precinct) in al-Quds (Jerusalem), the Zionist occupiers have gone on a killing spree of unarmed Palestinians. At least two Palestinians were killed today following attack on an American-born extremist rabbi, Yehuda Glick who is leading the campaign to demolish Masjid al Aqsa and build in its place the so-called Third Jewish Temple.

Displaying supreme arrogance and total disregard for consequences, the Zionist occupiers have shut down al-Aqsa Mosque, the Muslims’ first qibla situated in al-Quds (Jerusalem), barring all Muslims from praying there since early morning of October 30. This brazen act occurred in the aftermath of an attack on a racist extremist rabbi, Yehuda Glick a day earlier in Jerusalem. He was injured and taken to hospital.

Glick heads a group of Zionist squatters (aka settlers) whose avowed aim is to destroy Masjid al Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock (Golden dome) in order to build the so-called Third Temple.

Following the October 29 attack during a meeting of extremist Zionists discussing plans to take over the holy precincts, the Zionist regime immediately clamped down restrictions on the Palestinians and launched house-to-house searches for the alleged attacker.

The Zionist forces raided East al-Quds ( East Jerusalem) neighbourhood of Abu Tor and shot dead a former Palestinian prisoner on the roof of his house.

Mu‘taz Hijazi, 32, was seriously injured when Israeli forces stormed his home and opened fire. Israeli soldiers then prevented anyone from coming to his assistance. Hijazi bled to death on the roof of his house. Another Palestinian was also shot dead in Jerusalem.

Taking advantage of the turmoil in the Middle East, especially in Syria and Iraq, that has diverted Muslim attention, the Zionists have escalated their incursions onto the Haram al-Sharif, the holy precinct that houses both Masjid al Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock (the big golden dome).

Mahmud Abbas, head of the Palestinian Authority (PA) warned that the Israeli decision to block access to al-Aqsa Mosque amounted to a “declaration of war.” “This dangerous Israeli escalation is a declaration of war on the Palestinian people and its sacred places and on the Arab and Islamic nation,” Abbas’ spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina quoted him as saying today.

Two weeks earlier, Khalid Meshaal, head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, had issued a statement from Doha, Qatar, drawing attention of the Palestinian, Arab and Muslim masses to the serious threat posed by the Zionists to Masjid al Aqsa.

He called on the Arab and Muslim masses to express their outrage at such violations and threat to Islam’s third holiest site. The Zionists claim that Masjid al Aqsa is built on the site of their former temple. They want to demolish it so that the so-called Third Temple can be built there. History and archaeology provide no proof for such claims. Rabbinical law prohibits Jews from trespassing on the Haram al-Sharif. This, according to the law, would pollute the sacred precinct. There is even a board erected at the entrance to the site prohibiting Jews from trespassing.

Yet the Zionist thugs from the US distort history and violate even their own Rabbinical law to barge onto the holy precinct. Two ultra-right Zionist members of the Israeli Knesset have presented a bill in parliament that according to some news, will be voted on soon.

The bill aims to divide time between the Muslims and Jews to worship on the holy precinct. This is an attempt at creeping annexation of the Haram al-Sharif, like the Zionists did with the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil (Hebron) in February 1994. At that time Baruch Goldstein, a Zionist squatter from Brooklyn, New York, opened fire on Palestinian worshippers during their early morning prayer. Being the month of Ramadan, the place was packed.

Unless Muslims worldwide take serious note of these crimes, there is real danger that Masjid al Aqsa will also be lost to the Zionist marauders.

Goldstein murdered at least 29 Palestinian men and boys and injured another 100 before he was overpowered and killed in retaliation. The Zionist regime then placed curfew on the Palestinian inhabitants of al-Khalil (Hebron) while giving a freehand to the armed Zionist thugs to prowl the area.

By the end of the day, at least 100 Palestinians had been murdered. Zionist provocations relating to Masjid al Aqsa are following the same pattern. Unless Muslims worldwide take serious note of these crimes, there is real danger that Masjid al Aqsa will also be lost to the Zionist marauders.
