For once we in the Crescent International agree with the mainstream media.

The Biden-Harris inauguration as president and vice president respectively is truly historic.

Our reasons are different—that we will outline below—but there are certain historical firsts here.

Joe Biden is 78 years old, the oldest person to be sworn in as president.

His vice president Kamala Harris is not only the first female but also the first black and person of Indian-Asian descent to be elected to this office.

She has certainly breached some major barriers.

The swearing-in ceremony took place amid extraordinary security.

Washington DC looked like Baghdad in Iraq under occupation.

Thousands of troops in combat gear were deployed. And some had to be disarmed for fear they might attempt to assassinate Biden.

Metal barriers and razor barbed wire ringed the capital city of the “leader of the free world”.

Not even a fly could penetrate the security barriers.

Luckily, American troops had plenty of experience setting up barriers in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places.

They were able to establish Washington DC’s own ‘green zone’, replete with barricades and barbed wire.

Some freedom, some democracy!

And unlike previous inaugurations when literally hundreds of thousands if not millions of people attended, this time the venue was virtually deserted.

It was not because of the pandemic; there was a serious security threat from America’s own terrorists for all the precautions to be put in place.

After the swearing-in ceremony that was also attended by two former presidents—Barack Obama and George W. Bush but not Trump who in a fit of rage had left the White House early to fly to Florida for the last time on Air Force One—Biden and Harris drove to Arlington Cemetery.

The official announcement said it was to lay a wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

At 78 Biden is not in the best of health. At such age, you have to count your hours not days.

Biden has already said he will be a one-term president.

That is a wise decision. The question is, will he be able to serve his full term?

Our investigative reporters tell us that he often forgets to take his pills, including his laxatives.

Luckily, his wife Jill gives all his medications and laxatives on time to keep him regular.

Giving medications on time is also included in the duties of the first lady for which they don’t get paid.

It’s hard to be a woman even in the age of women’s emancipation.

Somethings never change.

Meanwhile, our special correspondent in Florida informs us that Trump has already smashed several television sets with his golf club.

He took a swing at the first one when Biden and Harris appeared for the swearing-in ceremony.

Trump fumed and indulged in expletives insisting he was still the president of the United States.

“The election was stolen”, he insisted.

At Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, he asked where were fake news reporters from CNN.

“What about Fox News?” he asked.

There was nobody to record his fulminations.

The narcissist-in-chief who insisted television cameras must record his every move, were nowhere around.

Our reporter reminded him he was no longer the president and therefore, not newsworthy anymore.

He immediately shot back and said that was fake news.

Trump threatened to sue Crescent International.

Our correspondent replied: “Go ahead, make our day. Sue us. I have the full authority on behalf of the management to tell you that.”

With the golf club held in his small hands, Trump took a swing at our correspondent but he was at sufficiently safe distance from the ugly American.

Not being in front of cameras to be his nasty self is even more difficult for Trump than being thrown out of the White House.

After all, even when he officially occupied the White House that had to be fumigated before Biden moved in, Trump spent most of his time at Mar-a-Lago.

So, he won’t miss the White House.

But Trump now faces a different kind of challenge. According to the contract he signed with the Council in Palm Beach, he cannot stay there for more than 21 days in a year.

It is a club, not a house. While he was president, the City Council could do little. Now, it plans to enforce the rule.

While he has officially changed his residence from New York to Palm Beach, he would not be able to stay at Mar-a-Lago for an extended period.

Meanwhile, businesses are abandoning Mar-a-Lago at a time when Trump businesses have already taken a big hit, according to CNN.
