Letters To The Editor

Tawfik Ahmed welcomes an end to the unipolar world and unilateralism in global affairs.

In the last two decades, the world has changed radically. It is no longer unipolar where the US can dictate to the rest of the world. Other power centres have emerged to challenge US hegemony. China is becoming a major global player causing worries in Washington; so is Russia under Vladimir Putin. Middle level players like Islamic Iran and Turkey are also making major strides. These are hopeful signs. The world needs balance of power, not unipolarism. US failure in Syria is another blow to its power.
