The ongoing clashes in Gaza show that if the tribal, US-backed Arabian regimes were genuinely concerned about innocent lives, they would have asked the UN for military intervention to stop the decades’ long oppression of Palestinians.

There was minimal coverage in the corporate Western media and the Qatari state-owned network Al Jazeera of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza on October 29. True, the main story was Hurrican Sandy that is battering the US, the world’s number one gangster nation, but similar or worse disasters elsewhere have received scant attention. For instance, Hurricane Sandy had killed more than 60 people in Haiti and another six persons in Cuba before it arrived at the US eastern seaboard but that did not merit much attention.

What was revealing was that the second most covered story on most news channels was the ongoing conflict in Syria. In fact, the car bombings by al-Qaeda mercenaries, that are backed, armed and financed by the US, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey received little attention while the Syrian army’s response to such terrorist acts was talked up.

There is deliberate stoking of the conflict in Syria. This highlights the imperialist agenda in this strategically crucial corner of the Middle East. While the western media’s silence over Israeli crimes is well known since the illegitimate Zionist entity is one of their own, what should one make of Al Jazeera’s silence about Zionist crimes that was so overwhelmed by the Qatari Emir’s October 23 visit to the besieged strip?

Al Jazeera gives spiced reports about events in Syria always blaming government forces even when the Saudi and Qatari backed mercenaries are responsible but in the case of Zionist attacks on Gaza and the killing of Palestinians, Al Jazeera has a different standard.

As the Palestinian resistance continued to face the Zionist onslaught on Gaza that began nearly 10 days ago, media outlets of the US backed Arabian tribal regimes made sure that Israel got the necessary news blackout to continue its aggression without evoking Muslim protests. During the Zionist onslaught last week, six Palestinians were killed and scores injured. However, people around the world heard little about such attacks or killings; instead the Saudi-Zionist-US alliance continued inciting inter-Muslim conflict in Syria.

All major news organizations worldwide made sure the US proxy war in Syria remained one of the major news stories. This scheme partially succeeded in diverting attention of the Western public from Israeli crimes in Gaza. However, Muslims worldwide remain focused on zionist aggression in Gaza and the missile strike of the Palestinian resistance that landed near Dimona, the illegal Israeli nuclear weapons facility.

The Palestinians’ ability to reach Dimona is another humiliation Israel suffered this month, after Hizbullah’s reconnaissance drone carried out a brief surveillance mission of Zionist forces in Occupied Palestine in early October.

The ongoing clashes in Gaza show that if the tribal, US-backed Arabian regimes were genuinely concerned about innocent lives, they would have asked the UN for military intervention to stop the decades’ long oppression of Palestinians. They have repeatedly pleaded for UN intervention and occupation of Syria.

Even though Israel has massacred thousands of Palestinians in the last decade alone, the Arabian tribal chiefs have never asked for direct intervention to liberate Palestine. This hypocritical stance of the US and its regional puppets ended up being the strongest socio-political deterrence of the Syrian people against foreign occupation.

The Syrian armed gangs, naively advancing the US-Israeli agenda in Syria, have reposed their trust in devious characters and powers. Such powers will use and then discard them. In Syria’s case, they also badly miscalculated about the staying power of Bashar al-Asad. That is why the Syrian rebels and their foreign mercenary allies are facing a political fiasco.
