Letters To The Editor

by Abdulaziz-ul-Haqq ibn Orozco (Letters To The Editor, Crescent International Vol. 43, No. 2, Jumada' al-Akhirah, 1435)

There are more things in common among Muslims than divides them but there are some that are determined to create confusion, according to reader Abdulaziz-ul Haqq ibn Orozco.

I seek for the mind to be awakened by knowledge for benefitting, developing and organizing my intellectual and emotional Islamic activities. But I cannot benefit from the help of others if there is always disunity, sharp differences of opinion, understandings, approaches and methodologies that weaken the Muslim Ummah. There should be unity among Muslims and their Islamic activities.

Somewhere along the path to righteousness, we strayed into differences, dismissing others as “misguided.” Muslims need to focus on what we have in common. There are scholars, thinkers, imams and writers within each Muslim community (schools of thought) that can create space for exchange of ideas to revive the global Islamic movement.
