Zionists and their Western backers take offence when Israel is referred to as an apartheid state yet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is about to confirm this in law.

Last week he announced he would propose legislation that would change Israel’s basic law to define it as the home of the “Jewish people” only.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting on Sunday May 4, Netanyahu said that the draft basic law is meant to clarify that Israel is “the nation state of the Jewish people.”

Israel “provides full equal rights, individual rights, to all its citizens, but it is the nation state of one people only – the Jewish people – and of no other people. And therefore, in order to bolster the status of the state of Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people, I intend to submit a basic law that will anchor this status,” he said.

If an American politician—president or a member of congress, for instance—were to announce that a law would be proposed to make the US a nation state of the white people only, although other citizens would be provided full equal rights, individual rights etc, this would be immediately denounced as outright racism.

The Zionist regime cannot do anything wrong even if it openly declares that it is going to institute racism as part of its basic law. Israel was always an apartheid state in fact; it is now going to become an apartheid state in law as well.

Palestinians naturally fear that the move would prompt discrimination against them as a minority. They already face much discrimination in the Zionist state. They are treated as fourth class citizens far behind the other Jewish castes—Ashkenzi, Sephardic and Falashas—in Israel.

The proposed law would also make it impossible for the Palestinians to return to their land from where they were expelled through a campaign of terror in 1947-1948.

It needs recalling that Israel was admitted in the United Nations in 1948 on the specific condition that it would allow the Palestinians to return to their homes. It has stubbornly refused to allow their return so far yet it continues to be accepted as a member of the UN.

Israeli firsters that take offence when the Zionist entity is referred to as an apartheid state are not likely to be embarrassed by this latest development. Their argument is not based on reality or fact; they are instinctively committed to the Zionist regime and pathologically opposed to notions of fairness and justice.
