Is President Mohamad Mursi serious in his pronouncements or is he simply playing to the public gallery?
Egyptian President Mohamad Mursi is trying to chalk out a new policy for his country. He faces many problems, both internal and external. Two issues will ultimately determine whether he is able to steer Egypt in a new direction, or else the change will prove an illusion. The first test will be the kind of relations Dr. Mursi establishes with the US. The second is his policy toward the Zionist State of Israel. So far, the signs are not very encouraging.
