Even as the US ferries ISIS terrorists out of Syria into Afghanistan in unmarked helicopters, regional countries are taking steps to confront this menace to their security. The intelligence chiefs of Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan met in Islamabad last month to chalk out a strategy of dealing with these terrorists.

Two countries in particular have suffered grievously as a consequence of ISIS terrorist acts: Iran and Pakistan. China and Russia are aware that should ISIS terrorists establish a foothold in Afghanistan, their security would be also threatened. Their approach to Pakistan and Iran is wise and all four should address this seriously and expeditiously.

It is of the utmost importance to defeat US-led attempts to destabilize, and thereby control the region. Efforts should also be made to evict the Great Satan from there; he does not belong and should be sent packing home, the sooner the better. The four countries have taken an important first step in this regard. More needs to be done for the sake of security and peace for all their people.
