The indicted war criminal (aka Israeli prime minister) Benjamin Netanyahu cannot sleep at night unless he has killed 30 to 50 Palestinians, most of them children, in any single day. Sometimes the kill rate is even higher. Within two weeks of breaking the tenuous ceasefire in Gaza on March 18, at least 1,000 Palestinians were killed.

Today, this figure has surpassed 1,928 Palestinians killed and over 5,000 injured, according to a report in The Cradle, quoting Gaza’s Health Ministry. Several children were burned alive in a building as it was engulfed in flames following Israeli air strikes. A day earlier, at least 32 people were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza, including 11 who were burned alive in their home in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.

The death toll in Gaza since October 2023 has surpassed 51,000. The actual figure is much higher since many people are still buried under the rubble. The Israelis have attacked and destroyed even bulldozers that were used to remove the rubble in a desperate attempt to rescue those trapped underneath it.

What drives Netanyahu’s genocidal mania? Many reasons have been cited. From his attempt to escape arrest by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to clinging to power to prevent being charged with fraud, all have elements of truth in them. Emptying out Gaza of its 2.2 million inhabitants as well as the 2.8 million Palestinians from the West Bank is also part of his demonic plan.

The real reason is that Netanyahu and the zionist cabal around him are absolute fascists and racists. Their racism is underpinned by passages in their scripture—“Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys’” (1Samuel, 15:3). Netanyahu quoted this passage in October 2023 to justify his genocide in Gaza.

There are several components to the zionist perpetrated genocide. Direct killing of Palestinians by bombing homes and apartment buildings of which nothing is left standing in Gaza today. Tents that serve as temporary shelters and areas designated as ‘safe zones’ including UN-run schools and hospitals are also bombed.

Deliberately withholding humanitarian aid has caused famine like conditions. The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said in a statement marking the Palestinian Child’s Day (April 5), said at least 60,000 children could starve to death if urgent humanitarian aid were not allowed into Gaza. “Seventeen children also froze to death in the tents sheltering displaced people, and 52 others died of starvation and systematic malnutrition,” it added.

In a scathing report on April 2, the UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric said that large-scale Israeli shelling and ground operations have resulted in widespread destruction and the displacement of more than 100,000 Palestinians from Rafah in two days (April 1-2), most of whom have been displaced multiple times. Equally shocking is the deliberate attack by the Israeli army on medical and emergency personnel. “The Secretary-General is shocked by the attack of the Israeli army on a medical and emergency convoy on 23 March resulting in the killing of 15 medical personnel and humanitarian workers in Gaza,” Dujarric said.

The zionist war criminals have attacked and killed aid workers, at least 408 of whom have been killed in Gaza, including 280 UN humanitarian personnel, since October 2023. There are other shocking statistics.

More than 39,000 Palestinian children have been orphaned by Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, according to official figures. “Some 39,384 children in Gaza have lost one or both parents after 534 days of the Israeli genocide,” the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said in a statement. Around 17,000 children have lost both parents in Israeli attacks.

The other component of Israel’s genocidal policy is to destroy all hospitals and arrest the medical staff. Of Gaza’s 36 hospitals, not one has been spared. Amid widespread destruction and lack of medicl supplies in hospitals, deliberately denied by Israel, Palestinians who suffer injuries cannot get medical help.

The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahiya (northern Gaza), Dr Hussam Abu Safiya was kidnapped at gunpoint in December 2024. For several days, Israel denied any knowledge of his whereabouts. Later it was revealed that he was held in appalling conditions in an Israeli prison and subjected to torture. He remains in prison to this day.

Even more disgusting is the zionist army’s sexual abuse of Palestinians held hostage in Israeli prisons. Women are especially targeted, knowing full well how critical honour is to Muslim women. The UN has documented these abuses (see also here and here) and demanded an end to such vile practices. Sde Teiman prison in Israel has gained notoriety for such abuses. Videos of sexual abuse of Palestinian prisoners have come to light. In their customay arrogance, Israeli politicians and military personnel have dismissed them.

Palestinian civilians are shunted from one place to another on orders from the Israeli army that says it wants to carry out military operations. Not enough time is given to people to collect their meagre belongings—mattresses, blankets, pots and pans—before the zionists launch their attack.

Even in the new place they are ordered to move to is not safe from zionist attacks. Often, the zionists have attacked supposedly ‘safe areas’, in some instances killing more than 100 people. What is the purpose of such killings apart from satiating the zionists’ lust for Palestinian blood?

Not surprisingly, Jonathan Whittall, acting director of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, has described the situation in the Gaza Strip as a “war without limits.” He described what is happening there as “an endless loop of blood, pain, death,” saying “Gaza has become a death trap.”

Palestinian families have been forced to move at least 8 to 10 times from the north to the south and back. Imagine the suffering of the people. Clutching babies, mothers are forced to tredge tens of miles from place to place in hopes of finding shelter and some safety. None is available anywhere in Gaza because the zionists incessantly bomb civilian targets.

These constitute war crimes and if the world were governed by law, they would be promptly arrested and prosecuted. Despite the ICC arrest warrant against Netanyahu, the chances of his being hauled before the court are almost zero. This is because all the western regimes are complicit in his crimes.

Given the dire food situation and lack of medicines, famine-like conditions are spreading. This is collective punishment of an entire population. Do the zionists care? Do the western do-gooders care? Perish the thought.

The zionist policy is to make life so unbearable for the Palestinians that they will be forced to leave Gaza. To their credit, the Palestinians are not prepared to do so. They know what would happen if they were to leave. They and their forefathers have been through this before from lands currently occupied by the zionists in what is called “Israel of 1948”.

The zionists are also inexorably pushing to take control of more land in Gaza. Some 54% of territory in northern Gaza has already been occupied by the Israeli military.

This is in violation of Security Council resolution 2735 (2024) that rejects any attempt at demographic or territorial change in the Gaza Strip, including any actions that reduce the territory of Gaza.

This brings us to the question of what Muslims should do. The regimes in countries surrounding Palestine are fully complicit in such crimes. They are allies of the zionists and the imperialists and would like to see the Palestinians disappear. They would rather kiss the zionists and dance with them than lose any sleep over the suffering of the Palestinian people.

It should be clear that the removal of these regimes is as important as driving the zionists out of Palestine.
