The US has a huge trade deficit with India. In 2018, the US exported $33.12 billion worth of goods but imported $54.41 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of $21.29 billion. Donald Trump is a businessman. He is unhappy with Delhi not opening its market to American goods and has withdrawn India’s special status. The US is trying to sell military hardware and nuclear technology to India to bridge the gap. There is a simple solution to rectify US trade imbalance with India.

In India some 600 million people do not have access to toilets. Trump should sell explosive devices that provide relief, not ones that kill people. Selling 600 million toilets will not only earn a lot of rupees with a relieved Gandhi grinning ear-to-ear on the notes but also covert into a lot of Benjamins. Imagine giving relief to 600 million desperate Indians, not to mention a reduction in stink! The Donald should seriously consider this.
