While March 20 will mark 20 years of the illegal invasion and destruction of Iraq by western hegemons, it is also important to not forget that heinous crimes were perpetrated in Iraq against innocent civilians.

The easy part for the collective west was to overthrow the regime of dictator Saddam Husain. The invasion unleashed forces that have shaken the very foundations of the western-crafted world order. A multipolar world order is in the making.

Under the oppressive rule of General El-Sisi, Egypt’s economy has been run aground. While most Egyptians cannot afford bread, the brute in uniform and his henchmen indulge in grand larceny stealing billions of dollars. Egypt has been reduced to a basket case.

Every year, March 23 is celebrated as Pakistan Day. There is nothing to celebrate given the crushed economy that has driven millions into poverty amid a deliberately-engineered crisis to prevent the crooks in civvies and uniform from going to jail. Pity the people of Pakistan.

Three important countries in the Muslims world—Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan—far from realizing their true potential are on the verge of collapse. In all three, the militaries have a lot to do with this sad state of affairs.

Every Muslim has deep attachment to the noble Qur’an. In Ramadan, Muslims intensify their reading of the noble Book. It is, however, meant to be understood to implement its teachings in life. The new, contemporary translation by Imam Muhammad al Asi will help them achieve this objective.

Since the US dollar serves as a global reserve currency, Washington can continue to print dollars while the rest of the world is forced to pay the price of inflation. This theft can be ended if the dollar’s hegemony is brought to an end.
