
Talks between Iran and the P4+1 are underway in Vienna to revive the JCPOA that the US had repudiated in May 2018. There are serious concerns about whether the US and its European allies can be trusted to fulfill their promises. Their track record does not evoke much confidence.

The illegal prison at Guantanamo Bay represents the ugly nature of the US. Of the 700 prisoners kept there at its peak, only 40 are left. Saifullah Paracha, 73, is the oldest prison who has been cleared for release but it is not certain when he might return home to his native Pakistan.
