
Intra-Afghan talks started in Doha, Qatar on September 12 but they are not making much progress. The Taliban and the US-backed Afghan government representatives have very different perspectives on the future set-up in Afghanistan.

Russia’s default position in the post-Soviet region is to resort to military force when there is trouble. While it has advantage in this field, it would be a mistake to always rely on brute force to solve problems.

When organizations fail to fulfill the objectives for which they were created, they become irrelevant and wither away. This is what is happening to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League. It is time to bury both.
