While delivering democracy to third world countries using cruise missiles and B-52 bombers, the US is unable to look after its own.
This was shown yet again when a snow storm hit Texas and southeastern United States late last week.
In Texas alone, more than 30 storm-related deaths have been reported by the media.
Hundreds of thousands of residents in Houston were suffering from both power outages and loss of clean drinking water.
Toby Baker, head of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality admitted on February 17 that nearly 7 million Texans were being advised to boil their water before drinking it or use it for cooking.
This was reported by Agence France Press (AFP) on February 18.
The storms also left more than 320,000 homes and businesses without power in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
About 70,000 power outages persisted after an ice storm in eastern Kentucky, while nearly 67,000 were without electricity in West Virginia.
More than 100,000 customers remained without power on February 18 in Oregon, a week after a massive snow and ice storm.
Meanwhile the mayor of a small town in Texas berated on Facebook “lazy” locals to fend for themselves amid a deadly snowstorm and power outages across the state.
“Quit crying and looking for a handout! Get off your ass and take care of your own family,” wrote Tim Boyd, who has since been forced to resign as mayor of Colorado City, Texas, that has a population of about 40,000.
Dubbing community aid as “socialist” Boyd’s Facebook rant said “Only the strong will survive and the weak will parish (sic),” he wrote.
Go back to school to learn some English, man!
Texas is the second largest state in the US and has massive oil and gas reserves.
It is the Saudi Arabia of the United States.
Its officials have the same mentality toward people as the profligate Saudis: fend for yourselves.
Ted Cruz, the Republican senator from Texas, meanwhile went on holidays with his family to Mexico amid the pandemic and the snow storm.
He is a staunch supporter of Donald Trump and ran for the Republican Party ticket for president in 2015-2016.
Is any further proof needed that the US is a failed state?
It cannot fend for its people berating them to look after themselves. The state is not responsible for them!
