The secularists in Egypt are gradually waking up to the reality of the military's brutal nature. It brooks no opposition. The secularists thought that by joining the campaign against the elected government of President Mohamed Mursi, they would have a free hand to continue their activities. They have had a rude shock: many of them have been jailed and their best known figure, Wael Ghoneim has fled into exile.

There was no let up in the takfiris' brutal campaign in Syria last year. At least 76,000 people were killed that included 17,790 civilians, among them 3,501 children. Given these horrendous casualties, 2015 is likely to be just as deadly if not worse. Syria has been destroyed all as part of the US-Saudi-Zionist plan to weaken the Resistance Front against Zionist aggression. The takfiris are part of this diabolical plot.

Daily News Analysis

There is no let up in the US-Saudi-Zionist-backed takfiris' murderous campaign in Iraq. The Christian New Year was ushered in with more killings of innocents. The year 2014 was declared the bloodiest since 2007 according to figures released by the UN. The year 2015 looks like even bloodier unless the takfiri terrorists are stopped in their tracks and put out of business, and soon.

Brute force is not the answer to every problem even if the temptation to use force has gained currency in Pakistan in the aftermath of the Peshawar school massacre. Lessons must be learned from the past in order not to repeat them.

Slaying innocent non-combatants violates every tenet of Islam. Those that indulge in such conduct are going against the teachings of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the noble Messenger (saws).
