Money and self-interest always trump human rights. The Harper regime has just announced a $10 billion sale of military equipment to one of the most notorious regimes in the Middle East--Saudi Arabia. While the Saudis are so incompetent that they will not be able to use them against any external threat, their real use would be against its own civilian population as well as keeping other notoriously oppressive regime, such as in Bahrain, in power.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said there will be no deal with the zionist regime on compensation for victims of the Mavi Marmara attack (May 31, 2010; depicted on banner on the Mavi Marmara in photo) unless the zionists give written guarantees that the siege of Gaza would be lifted. If Erdogan can stand his ground, this will be a great morale booster for the people of Gaza as well as millions of their supporters.

Slaughtering people like animals and chewing organs of dead opponents are signature marks of the takfiris operating in Syria. Now they have added another macabre ritual: strangulation of girls. A recent video shows this in stunningly graphic form. What kind of beasts are these?

Despite illegal sanctions, sabotage and other difficulties placed in the path of the Islamic Republic by imperialists and Zionists, the people's support for the Islamic Revolution has not waned. This was witnessed once again today as millions joined the 35 anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution at Azadi Square in Tehran.

The Pakistani Taliban have put forward a set of proposals for negotiations through their nominees (shown in photo). Will the Pakistan government respond positively or unleash its media dogs to discredit it without even looking at the proposals? Some points may not be workable but others should be seriously considered if the government wants to bring an end to the chaos that has engulfed the country.

Muslims in the US seem to clutch any straws that would make them feel as if they are welcome in the US. The latest episode is the announcement by New York City mayor, Bill de Blasio that he would fulfill his campaign promise to recognize Muslim holidays in the public school calendar. The illegal surveillance of Muslims and infiltration of mosques by NYPD agents provocateurs, however, will continue.

Officials and the people of the Islamic Republic should not fall for the guile of American officials, said the Rahbar in a speech to Air Force Commanders. He said the US would, if it could, overthrow the Islamic system of government. It has failed not for lack of trying but because it is based on Islamic principles and is backed by the Iranian people. He also called upon officials and people to continue with the resistance economy.

The increasing frequency of zionist attacks on Masjid al-Aqsa and the Haram al-Sharif compound is extremely worrying. Muslims must mobilize worldwide to prevent the zionists from implementing their criminal agenda. Masjid al Aqsa, shown in the picture, should not be confused with the golden Dome of the Rock that is also located on Haram al-Sharif.
