One of the major challenges facing journalists and commentators these days is catching up with Donald Trump’s nonsense that he spews out every day. His so-called Truth Social platform is the garbage can where one can find his incoherent, contradictory rants.

This can be explained by considering some specific examples.

1: Following the US-zionist Israel’s unprovoked and illegal war on Iran launched on February 28, Donald Trump has issued contradictory statements. Some would be laughable were it not for the serious consequences of war.

On March 27, Trump claimed Iran was “begging” to make a peace deal. Tehran categorically rejected this and even denied that any negotiations were taking place. That, however, has not prevented Trump from repeating his nonsensical assertions.

Iran has said that friendly countries have approached it to work out an agreement for a ceasefire. Tehran has made it clear that it is not interested in a temporary ceasefire that the US-zionist duo would use to replenish their depleted munitions stocks. Once replenished, they relaunch another attack as the two have done twice before.

American officials are gripped by total confusion. They have talked about a 15-point plan that they said was presented to Iran. The latter has categorically rejected it. Instead, the Islamic Republic has set out its own five conditions for peace.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran had no plans to negotiate with the US. He said Tehran intended to keep fighting. “At present, our policy is the continuation of resistance,” Araghchi said on state TV.

“We do not intend to negotiate. So far, no negotiations have taken place, and I believe our position is completely principled.” He acknowleged that Iran is sending messages through mediators but has not spoken to the US directly.

Iran’s foreign minister said that Iran demands a permanent end to the war on all fronts—including Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen and Iraq. He also called for reparations to be paid for the destruction caused by the US-Israeli illegal war on Iran.

2: Let us recall what the evil duo have done. They have destroyed more than 8200 civilian infrastructures including houses, apartment buildings, factories, refineries, schools, universities and hospitals. More than 23,000 civilian casualties have occurred of whom 1900 have been killed. This total includes 281 young school girls, the largest casualty occuring on February 28 when the girls’ elementary school in Menab (western Iran) was struck twice with missiles.

The most dastradly crime was the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader, Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei and several of his family members. Also martyred in the strikes were several top military and Revolutionary Guards commanders.

3: After this murderous onslaught, Trump said he was prepared for a ceasefire with Iran. The message was conveyed through Italy.

Such thinking can only emerge from the demented mind of a war criminal. If he thought Tehran would beg for a ceasefire because its leader and a number of senior military and revolutionary guards commanders were martyred, then he knows nothing about the Iranians.

4: As the war has continued and Iran has hit US military bases in the region as well as the zionist entity in retaliation, Trump made the outrageous claim that Iran’s military, navy and missile launchers had been “obliterated”. Thus, he demanded Iran’s “unconditional surrender”, failing which the US would send its ground troops.

When asked about Trump’s threat, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told NBC: “We will welcome them. Le them come.” He was absolutely serious. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) would welcome nothing more than fighting American troops directly. It is only through such direct encounter that the murderous Americans will find out what revolutionary Muslims are made up of.

5: The IRGC spokesperson announced that tankers and commercial ships from only non-hostile countries will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. This has resulted in hundreds of oil tankers being stranded in the northern Persian Gulf as well as the Sea of Oman south of the Strait of Hormuz.

Qatar has stopped producing LNG as there is no more storage capacity. Kuwait and Saudi Arabia have also stopped producing oil, again because of lack of storage capacity, nor the possibility in the near future of shipping it out.

Oil prices have soared resulting in higher gas prices at the pump. This has affected ordinary Americans most severely. Already reeling from high food prices because of Trump’s ill-conceived tariffs policy, high gas prices will only exacerbate the situation. Fertilizer supplies have also been disrupted. Again, this will result in higher food prices. Some regions of the world may even be afflicted by famine.

6: Trump threatened to send the US navy to escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. Iran responded by saying, “try it”. After huffing and puffing for a few days, Trump changed his tune. He said countries that import oil from the Persian Gulf, including China, should send their navies.

When European countries declined to oblige, Trump accused them of being “cowards”. He lashed out at NATO countries as well. They responded by saying that the organization is a “defensive” not an offensive alliance. This of course is a lie but the reality is that they have no stomach for a fight whose outcome and end goals are uncertain.

The Germans went further than most Europeans. Their government spokesperson said Trump did not consult them when he launched the war. Further, NATO does not operate under the command of a single country. It is a collective responsibility.

7: Amid rising oil prices, on March 19, the US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Washington was lifting sanctions on Iranian oil that was already on tankers in the sea. This would be for a period of one month. For 46 years, the US has sanctioned Iranian oil sales. Now, in the midst of the war on Iran, the US has unilaterally lifted these sanctions.

This has naturally resulted in more revenues for Iran, at times double the rate at which they were selling their oil.

8: While Trump falsely accused Iran of laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz, he issued an ultimatum on March 21 that if Iran did not open the waterway to oil tankers, the US would bomb Iran’s power plants and energy infrastructure. Iran’s response was immediate and categorical: Should the US indulge in such folly, the entire region will be plunged into darkness. Iran will hit the energy grid of regional countries that host American bases and supply them power.

9: It did not take long for Trump to make another U-turn. On March 23, he again took to his “truth social” platform, saying he had postponed military strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for five days. He published this in bold letters. Then he extended it by 10 days to April 6.

He claimed, without providing proof, that Washington and Tehran have held “very good and productive conversations” over the past two days toward resolving the war. What Iranian official he was negotiating with Trump did not say. It resulted in many cartoons produced by the orangutan in the White House.

10: Iranian officials rejected Trump’s claims of direct negotiations. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of Iran’s parliament, in a post on X wrote: “Fake news is intended to manipulate financial and oil markets and to escape the quagmire in which America and Israel are trapped.”

Iran’s Mehr News agency, citing the Foreign Ministry, reported: “There are no talks between Tehran and Washington.” It characterized Trump’s remarks as an attempt to manipulate global energy markets and buy time for his military plans. Since Iran’s restrictions on tanker traffic through the vital waterway, oil prices have skyrocketed.

11: This is what terrifies Trump. As American consumers feel the pain of high gas prices brought on by the war of choice, Trump fears its impact on the November Congressional elections. Many Americans have also realized that Israel, and in particular the indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu manipulated Trump into launching this unprovoked war.

Americans in large numbers are beginning to resent such manipulation to suit the interests of a foreign entity. They see it as a parasite sucking the blood of Americans to feed its insatiable greed.

Regarding the alleged talks between Tehran and Washington, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said: “Yes, there are initiatives from some countries in the region to de-escalate tensions, and our response to all of them is clear: we are not the party that started this war, and all such requests should be directed to Washington.”

Trump is clearly panicking. He thought decapitating Iran’s top leadership would bring it to its knees. He would bask in its glory but that has not happened. Instead, the US, its Arabian puppets and the zionist entity have been delivered massive blows.
