On Friday July 29, John Nuttall, 41 and his common law wife, 32-year-old Amanda Korody were acquitted of terrorism charges because Justice Catherine Bruce ruled the police actively planned the terror plot and pressured the defendants into committing the crime.

Arab League summits are pretty pathetic affairs. Arabian rulers talk big but there is little action. Nothing can be expected from puppets but last week’s summit in Mauritania hit new lows!​​​​​​​

The police in America can do no wrong even when they kill innocent people. Since the police investigate themselves, they destroy the evidence. In the unlikely event of a case going before the court, racist judges ensure police are exonerated. Not surprisingly, so many blacks have been killed in recent months. Black anger is understandable in view of such brutality. Even President Obama says the justice system is broken but is helpless to fix it.

Many people naively believe that history-making is something good. What difference does it or will it make if Hillary Clinton has made history by becoming the first woman to win the nomination of a major political party for the presidential post? Donald Trump's grab of the Republican nomination is also unprecedented but both are dangerous for the world. Either could easily start a nuclear war.​​​​​​​

What kind of people would behead a 10-year-old boy in public and even film the gruesome act? If they happen to be Western-backed rebels, they would indulge in such crimes but they can rest easy that the Western corporate media would give this barbaric act a pass. CNN and Fox News did not report this horrific crime; the BBC gave it short shrift. Imagine if a group opposed to the West had indulged in such an act!

There has been widespread revulsion at Indian crimes in Kashmir. Over the past two weeks, there has again been an escalation in violence by the Indian army of occupation against innocent Kashmiris. Hundreds of Canadians of all backgrounds also added their voices to condemn the violence and brutality unleashed by the Indian occupation army on the Kashmiri people. A rally was held outside the Indian Consulate July 16 to condemn India.

The coup attempt by a group of military officers in Turkey seems to have fizzled out. After several hours of tense standoff, the coup plotters were beaten back and the police and people were able to reclaim control. Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan who flew into Istanbul airport from his holiday said the military will be cleansed of these elements.

America's 'sacred war' in Afghanistan is a total disaster but no one wants to talk about it. Instead, the US and its Nato allies want to shovel more billions into a bottomless pit that has been destroyed beyond repair. This film, even by Hollywood's low standards, is excruciatingly tasteless as Eric Walberg finds out.

The Najdi Bedouins are so consumed by hatred of Islamic Iran that they have openly embraced the well known terrorist group, the Mujahideen-e Khalq organization (MKO) better known as Munafiqeen. This was evident at a Paris rally on July 9 that the group organized at which the former Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Turki al-Faisal also spoke, calling for the overthrow of the Islamic government in Iran.

Pakistan's best known social worker, Abdul Sattar Edhi passed away today in Karachi. He was 88. May Allah shower His mercies upon his soul and grant him Jannatul Firdaus for all the good work that the did for the poor, needy and downtrodden without asking for anything in return.
