The US justice system is grossly unjust, as a new study into the number of people convicted of murder has just shown. Conducted out by legal experts, the study has found that more than 4.1 percent of people on death row, most of them African-Americans or Hispanics, have been wrongfully convicted.

It is difficult to tell who is worse: the men in uniform or those in robes on the benches in Egypt? Both kill innocent people for no other crime than demanding their fundamental rights. The men in uniform kill with guns and bullets while those in robes sentence people to death in trials that are so outlandish, they cannot even be described as farcical. The US and its British allies are running secret prisons in Afghanistan away from any oversight or control of the Afghan government. The US-run torture chamber at Bagram was taken over by Afghan forces earlier this year releasing many people that were never charged with any crime. Two secret prisons have been discovered at Qandar and in Helmand province; the latter being run by the British. Afghan President Hamid Karzai is very upset.

Saudi Princess Sahar, the daughter of King Abdullah has issued a call for the people to rise up against the regime. Sahar and her three sisters are kept hostage in two separate houses in Jeddah while their mother, Al-Anood al-Fayez, divorced from King Abdullah, fled the kingdom to live in exile in London. Princess Sahar's call is supremely courageous and could cause her more harm but it seems she is not afraid.

The killing of peaceful protesters continues unabated in Egypt. Every Friday, thousands of people pour out into the streets to denounce the military coup and demand restoration of the first-ever legally elected President Mohamed Mursi. The regime and its thugs respond with bullets, tear gas and other lethal weapons. The people have not been deterred.

The tide is turning in favor of President Bashar al-Asad and against the foreign-backed mercenaries in Syria. Presidential poll date has been set for June 3 while the Syrian army is making steady progress against the mercenaries that have perpetrated horrible crimes against civilians.

The deteriorating ethics of most Pakistani journalists have tarnished the once-noble profession and turned it into a blackmailing tool at the behest of their foreign masters. The social fabric has been messed up and turned into a veritable zoo. The attack on TV anchor Hamid Mir has brought this out clearly.

Most parts of Indian occupied Kashmir were completely shut down today in response to a call by Kashmiri leaders to boycott Indian elections. They refuse to accept that they are part of India and have denounced Indian elections as a “sham.” They want a referendum to determine their own future.

American officials are forever launching wars; shooting wars as well as wars on concepts whether it is poverty or terror. Apart from its war on Muslims, America has lost every war, none more thoroughly than the one on poverty

Abdelaziz Bouteflika, 77, has been declared winner in the Algerian presidential election that his nearest rival, one-time prime minister Ali Benflis said was marred by massive fraud. Bouteflika won a fourth five-year term. He was first elected in 1999.
