The Obama regime wanted James Foley dead rather than alive. James Foley's younger brother Michael told Fox News that he was threatened by the US State Department not to raise ransom money to rescue his brother from the clutches of the takfiris. His mother said it did not fit into US strategic policy [to have her son come out alive].

The Obama regime threatened the family of slain US journalist James Foley to force them to desist from raising funds to rescue their brother.
Michael Foley, younger brother of James Foley told Fox News on Thursday September 11 that the US regime threatened him with prosecution if he tried to raise funds to secure the release of his kidnapped brother from the clutches of the takfiri terrorists.
“They were actually an impedance,” the younger Foley told the rightwing news network that is owned by the Zionist Rupert Murdoch, and Saudi Prince Waleed bin Talal has 20 % shares in it.
“I was specifically threatened by the Department of State about raising funds towards ransom demands for my brother,” Michael Foley said on air. “We were smart enough to look past it but it slowed us down. We lost a lot of time.”
The takfiri terrorists kidnapped Foley in Syria on November 22, 2012. He was on assignment for AFP and the Boston-based media company Global Post.
The New York Times reported that the terrorists had demanded a ransom of $100 million. The US regime, however, refused to pay and even threatened the Foley family from raising funds.
“They [the regime in Washington] got in our way,” Michael Foley told the rightwing network Fox News. “That's what really bothers me to the core.”
Diane Foley, James’ mother, said she is embarrassed and appalled by how the American government dealt with her son’s case.
“I think our efforts to get Jim freed were an annoyance” to Washington policy makers and warmongers, Diane Foley said in a separate interview with CNN. “It didn’t seem to be in (US) strategic interest, if you will.”
She even said that the family was told many times by administration officials that raising ransom money “was illegal, we might be prosecuted.” This was clearly an attempt to intimidate the family from making any effort to secure James Foley’s release.
For the US regime, a dead Foley was far more useful than one that came out alive even if ransom was paid.
The Washington warlords would have been deprived of the pretext to wage war on Iraq and Syria if the horrific videos of beheadings of two US journalists had not emerged.
A grisly video uploaded on YouTube on August 19 and later confirmed as “authentic” by the White House showed a takfiri terrorist with a British accent executing Foley, allegedly in retaliation for US air strikes in Iraq.
The video, dubbed “Message to America,” came almost a month after US President Barack Obama authorized air strikes against the takfiris in northern Iraq.
In another report in the British daily, The Telegraph on August 25, the execution video was described as fake although it achieved its propaganda purpose by evoking revulsion among people worldwide.
The Telegraph report pointed to the fact that even though the knife moved across Foley’s neck at least six times, no blood was seen gushing out. The report said he was killed somewhere else but the video was made to shock people around the world.
The takfiris are a creation of the US, Saudi Arabia and Zionist Israel. The Saudis and Qataris have financed the terrorists while Turkey has been providing logistical support. All these regimes are US allies.
The gruesome videos, whether authentic or fake, have provided the perfect pretext for the US to attack Iraq and Syria directly, an excuse denied it so far.
