Every year, in the month of Muharram, millions of Shi'as and Sunnis alike, mourn Imam Husayn's martyrdom. It is regrettable, however, that of these mourners very few focus their attention on the objective for which the Imam not only sacrificed his life but also the lives of his kith and kin. It is but natural for his family members and those who foster feelings of love, respect and empathy for his family to express their grief over his martyrdom.

The massacre of Muslims may have occurred in Nigeria but it aroused the concern of people from all walks of life worldwide. Rallies protesting the horrific massacre have been held in London (UK), Washington DC and New York (US) and Toronto (Canada). There have also been protest rallies in Iran, Pakistan, India and a host of other countries. In each locale, there were calls for the arrest and trial of the Nigerian army chief Tukur Buratai.

Soldiers are trained to kill but their job is to do so against external enemies and in defence of the State. The Nigerian army, like that in Egypt and other parts of the Muslim world, revel in killing their own citizens. The December 12 attack on the Islamic movement in Nigeria has resulted in the cold blooded murder of nearly 1000 innocent Muslims. Will the murderers face trial for their crimes? It is not even being mentioned.

The Nigerian army, like armies in most Muslim countries, has perpetrated a massacre of innocent Muslims in Nigeria. It targeted the headquarters of the Islamic movement in Nigeria and murdered some 20 people in cold blood. Hundreds of others were injured.

Republican presidential contender Donald Trumps thinks everyone in America, especially Barack Obama is stupid. He (Trump) is the only one smart enough to save America from Moozlems! There are enough stupid people in America that believe him. Among them is the police chief in a small Texan town. This is not surprising. Wasn't George Bush also from Texas?
