Islamic Iran's negotiators have made clear that if the P5+1 group of countries led by the US are really serious about a deal over Tehran's nuclear program, then all sanctions must be lifted. The latest round of talks have been underway in the Swiss city of Montreux. Iran's Foreign Minister Dr Javad Zarif and his US counterpart met yesterday and talks are continuing at expert level today. March 31 has been set as a deadline for a deal.

طالب مجلس العلاقات الأمريكية الإسلامية، في بيان صحفي أصدره شهر يناير 2013؛ وسائل الإعلام الأمريكية بالتوقُّف عن استخدام مصطلح “الإسلاميين Islamists”،مُشيرًا إلى أنه يُستخدم في سياق الازدراء والتحقير مقرونين بالتطرُّف؛ مما يُضفي ظلالًا شديدة السلبيّة على المدلول. وقال المجلس أن الربط بين اصطلاح “الإسلاميين” ومظاهر التشدُد والعنف وحرمان اﻵخر من الحقوق الدينية والمدنيّة؛ هي رؤية يُروّج لها المعادون للإسلام. ودعا المجلس الإعلام للاقتداء بوكالة أسوشيتد برس الأمريكية؛ التي عرّفت “الإسلاميين”، عام 2012؛ بأنهم “من يؤيدون الحكم وفقًا للقوانين الإسلامية”. ورأى البيان أن استخدام المصطلح دون تعريف واضح يعني إصدار أحكام دينية وسياسيّة نهائيّة بحق الموصوف في كل مرة يتم استخدامه.

The Nigerian regime postponed presidential elections scheduled for February 14 because the challenger Muhammad Buhari was set to win. It revived memories of a similar disruption in June 1993 when Moshood Abiola was deprived of his victory. In the earlier case, voting had taken place but the result was not announced.
