He is leading a massive rally in Islamabad demanding Sharif's resignation because of rigging and corruption charges. Imran has given two days for Sharif to resign before he storms the inner sanctum of Islamabad.

A prominent human rights lawyer Waleed Abulkhair has been tortured and being moved from prison to prison because he had dared to defend those that called for reforms in the kindgom. His case has moved even Human Rights Watch to issue a statement about his torture.

Even as a truce has been declared between the Houthis and al Qaeda in Yemen, the Saudi regime will not stop its disruptive tactics to allow the people of Yemen to live in peace. The obscurantist Saudi regime wants to undermine Yemen and bring it under its control fearing that the rise of Houthis will undercut Riyadh's influence.

With his backers and indeed his own party--the Dawa Party--deserting him, Nouri al-Maliki was left with little choice but to relinquish the post of prime minister. Will Iraq now be able to rise above sectarianism and develop into a stable entity? It will depend on the policies the Prime Minister-designate Haider al-Abadi adopts.​​​​​​​
